All About FIFA World Cup 2022

The FIFA world cup is one of the most popular and viewed sports tournaments. People all over the world wait eagerly for the tournament. FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place from November 20 to December 18 in Qatar. Here's all the information you need to know about the FIFA World Cup 2022.

The tournament was going to begin a day later with Senegal's game against the Netherlands at Al Thumama Stadium. But Qatar's match got forged ahead in August. It permitted them to open their home tournament.

England will play against Iran with their Group B. The match will kick off at 1 pm on Monday, November 21, just eight days after the Premier League shuts down. The first game of Wales will also be on the same day. Then, it will play against England on 29 November in Group B.  

This is the 22nd edition of the tournament and the first going to happen in the Arab World. A total of 32 teams will compete against each other in eight groups. On April 1, 2022, the draw for the World Cup group phase came about in Doha, Qatar, to build the basis for the tournament.

The final three qualification places were completed in June, with Australia, Wales, and Costa Rica completing the 32-team line-up. And the final will be carried out at the Lusail Stadium in Doha on Sunday, December 18.

World Cup 2022 Groups

32 teams are going to participate in the tournament. They will compete in eight groups of four:

World Cup 2022 Schedule

The group phase will begin from 20 November to 2 December. And the knockout phase will start from 3-6 December with the Round of 16. The quarter-finals will kick off on 9 and 10 December, along with the semi-finals on 13 and 14 December. The play-off for the third place will take place on 17 December, one day earlier than the final.

World Cup 2022 Tickets

The ticket sales entered the last-minute sales phase on Tuesday 27 September at 11:00 CET / 12:00 (noon) local time. It will be available until the end of the competition on 18 December 2022. Those who want to attend the match can book their tickets online.

Premier League

The Premier League has adjusted to adapt to the World Cup which takes place in the middle of the domestic calendar. The season began a week before normal on August 6, 2022. In the league, 16 match days will take place up to the weekend of November 12/13, before the tournament starts on November 20.

The Premier League will restart on Boxing Day after the World Cup final, which will take place on December 18. The final match round of the 2022/23 season will come to pass on May 28, 2023.
