Upcoming Car Launches To Keep An Eye On

From the Mercedes Benz EQB to BMW X7 Facelift, a number of cars have made their way to the list of launching cars.

We have listed some of the cars and their features. All of these are going to launch in December and January. Catch a glimpse at the list of cars and see if they are what you are looking for. And let's find out if they are worth the wait or not. 

Mercedes Benz EQB

Mercedes is all set to launch the seven-seater EQB electric SUV in India by December 2022. After the launch of EQC and EQS, this is the third EV in the brand's EQ sub-brand in India. The EQB consists of a blanked-off front grille and a full-width LED light bar at the rear. 

Globally the powertrain details are offered in two states of tune – a 228hp, dual-motor 300 4Matic guise, and a higher-spec 292hp, dual-motor 350 4Matic guise. On the other hand, for India-spec models, they are yet to confirm the powertrain details. The estimated price of the Mercedes Benz EQB is Rs 55.00 Lakh.

The EQB has a lower center of gravity in comparison to the GLB. And for that reason, you can predict it to handle significantly better in contrast to its nose-heavy gas-powered sibling. There is an option for DYNAMIC SELECT.  So, you can switch between the different drive modes through the DYNAMIC SELECT.

When you think about the driving range, the EQB 300 has an evaluated 243 miles on the EQB 300, on the other hand, that number decreases to 227 miles on the EQB 350. 

Mercedes Benz GLB

The luxury brand Mercedes is also gearing up to launch the GLB SUV in India by early December. Set to arrive as a CBU from Mexico, the GLB is going to be the second 7-seater Mercedes in India after the GLS. The interior of the luxury car is inspired by the model GLA.

The GLB will possess the features like a panoramic sunroof, dual 10.25 infotainment layout, voice commands, and sliding second-row seats. When it comes to powertrain options, it will have a 2.0 diesel engine with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission or the 163hp, 190hp, 1.3-litre, turbo-petrol engine with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Lamborghini Urus Performante

The facelifted version of the outgoing Urus super-SUV, Urus Performante will be out in December. The Urus Performante will be 47kg lighter. Unveiled back in August, it will have features like a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that puts out 666hp and 850Nm and an updated 4.0-liter.

Lamborghini has previously said that deliveries of the Urus Performante will start here before the end of 2022. The low-profile tires and lower ground clearance will be more of a challenge than the regular Urus, so people have to be careful of the roads.

However, with 160mm clearance under the belly, it will be easy for people to clear all speed breakers. It has steel springs which will make the ride firmer over broken roads.

BMW X7 Facelift  

BMW is going to introduce the facelift for its X7 SUV in India around the second week of December. Revealed this year, the X7 facelift will possess a new front fascia that showcases the brand’s new division headlamp setup. In the interior, the X7 facelift gets BMW’s latest curved infotainment screen that contains a 14.9-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

In India, the X7 will have bestowed on xDrive 40i and xDrive 30d guise, thereby the former gets a 380hp, inline six-cylinder petrol engine. Even though the latter operates a 352hp, inline six-cylinder diesel engine. Both engines are merged with 48V mild-hybrid tech. And they come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive as standard.

BMW XM

Revealed in September 2022, the XM is only the second custom BMW Motorsport product after the mid-engined M1 supercar of the late 1970s. The latest model of the car is ready to arrive in India during the second week of December. The XM is the first M model that has the feature of a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It connects a twin-turbo 483hp, 4.4-liter V8 engine.

The engine has mild-hybrid tech where a single electric motor bolts inside the 8-speed automated gearbox, which further generates 194hp. Consequently, the XM delivers a complete power output of 653hp along with 800 Nm of torque. People can run the luxury SUV in pure EV mode with a capacity of up to 80km.

Tata Altroz EV

The Tata Altroz EV will showcase the same features as the Nexon EV, such as  PDU (Power distribution unit), the same electric powertrain, and a battery pack. The car will have connected car technology that lets you access the car's stats such as the charging history and remaining battery.

In addition, it can even locate the closest charging stations for you. The Tata Altroz EV will cost around Rs 12- 15 lakhs in India. They will be available in India from January 2023.

Citroen C3 EV

The EV is kind of similar to the ICE C3 as the side profile and the design features look the same as the ICE counterpart. You can expect multiple battery options. One of them is the global-spec 50kWh battery pack with a WLTP-claimed range of over 350km, present in the Peugeot e-208, which runs on the same platform.

It will have an electric motor that generates 136 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. There’s a possibility that the EV could also feature a smaller battery pack with a capacity of about 300 km. Moreover, the all-electric car can be launched in India by April 2023. And for its price, an estimated starting price is between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 14 lakh.
